Planned Parenthood Congratulates Itself for Opposing Anti-Forced Abortion Policy

Planned Parenthood has been one of the foremost opponents of a Bush administration proposal to enforce existing laws protecting doctors and nurses from involvement in abortions against their conscience. The abortion business sent a note to is supporters congratulating them for lobbying against it.

Last week, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards called on abortion advocates to contact Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt and leave comments on his blog opposing the policy.

"The flood of comments to Sec. Leavitt's blog forced him to acknowledge the secret rule the Bush administration is considering — the first time any administration official has addressed the issue," she wrote.

"In his latest blog post, Sec. Leavitt admits that the pressure from Planned Parenthood supporters like you made it impossible for him to continue to ignore the controversy," Richards added.

Richards' email ignores the sarcasm in a blog response Secretary Leavitt posted.

"I’m delighted to announce that, with the help of Planned Parenthood, my blog -- for the first time -- received more visits than my teenage son’s MySpace page," he said.

Planned parenthood also ignored how a high percentage of the emails and posts abortion advocates left on the blog were profane or contained threats. read more LifeNews

Judge refuses to censor Prop 4 ballot arguments, rejects Planned Parenthood challenge to “Sarah’s Story”

More than 13 million California voters will get to read uncensored ballot arguments in favor of Proposition 4 – Sarah’s Law – after a judge ruled against a challenge to the language by Planned Parenthood and its allies.

Sacramento Superior Court Judge Michael P. Kenny ruled on Friday, Aug. 8, that the story of Sarah, a 15-year-old girl who died following a secret abortion, would remain in the ballot arguments, as well as several other strongly-worded statements by those in favor of the family notification measure.

Planned Parenthood had asked the judge to order the secretary of state to strike Sarah’s story from the “arguments in favor” and to remove other statements in the “arguments in rebuttal,” claiming they were factually inaccurate.

“Sarah” is a pseudonym for a teen who died from complications following an abortion in 1994. Her case is being used by Prop 4 advocates to dramatize the danger posed to young girls when family members are unaware they have undergone an abortion. read more CalCatholic

Planned Parenthood's sex miseducation

Planned Parenthood took me "Down There" and exposed it all. The self-evident wrong-headedness of their thinking, that is.

A new campaign waged by the abortion provider is as crass as its name suggests. But it is more than that. It is an expose -- in that most pithy and au courant of forms, the Web video -- of why we get nowhere in America when we talk about sex education.

The "Take Care Down There" campaign consists of Web videos of young people talking about threesomes and sexually transmitted diseases, because that's all kids could ever chat about, right? An awkward older man suddenly enters the picture and dispenses advice -- say, how to use a condom -- to the eager teens, sparing no one's delicacy in the process. read more Townhall

Planned Parenthood Still Attacking Bid to Protect Pro-Life Docs on Abortion

Planned Parenthood is continuing its relentless onslaught against a proposal within the Bush administration to protect pro-life doctors, nurses and other medical professionals who don't want to be involved in abortions.

The measure deals with employment discrimination but Planned Parenthood has sold it to its members as a plan to hinder the distribution of birth control.

Under the Bush plan, enforcement is ramped up on existing laws that prevent employers receiving federal funds from discriminating against medical staff who want nothing to do with abortions.

The measure also protects medical centers that don't want abortions done on site.

As Planned Parenthood has said -- and continued to maintain in a Wednesday email -- the abortion business believes the Bush administration is trying to redefine birth control as abortion.

That's because the definition of abortion in the proposal makes it clear the administration is talking about the destruction of human life from the moment of conception -- when a new human life is conferred. read more LifeNews

FACE PAINTING, MAGIC SHOWS AND BIRTH CONTROL: PLANNED PARENTHOOD INFILTRATES CHILDREN'S EVENT

In its latest venture in marketing sex to children, Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion chain, will pass out birth control and sexually transmitted disease materials at "Vallejo Celebrates Youth," a children's health and wellness event in Vallejo, California Aug. 2.

The event, sponsored by the Greater Vallejo Recreational District will feature face painting, a magic show; and booths on childhood obesity, literacy, oral hygiene, second-hand smoke and birth control.

"By its presence at this event, Planned Parenthood is providing even more evidence that it is out to get your kids," said Marie Hahnenberg, a researcher with American Life League. "Last year, it received over $356 million in clinic income, and now it's out to make even more money by getting kids hooked on sex so it can get more customers – through its pornographic teen web sites, passing out sex-saturated reading materials or giving condoms to elementary students." read more PewSitter

Planned Parenthood Ad Blasting John McCain on Contraception is False

Planned Parenthood thought it had an excellent television ad against John McCain when it pieced together footage of the pro-life presidential candidate saying he wasn't sure if health insurance plans that cover Viagra should also cover birth control for women.

The abortion business is running the commercial in several battleground states.

"John McCain is out of touch when it comes to women's health care," Cecile Richards, president of the pro-abortion group, said at the time the group released the ad.

"Birth control is basic health care for women. But, John McCain ducked a straightforward question about whether he thinks insurance companies should cover birth control, like they do Viagra," she said.

However, it appears Planned Parenthood is ducking the facts. read more LifeNews

Planned Parenthood creates yet another disgusting web site for our teens

from stopp@all.org:

Planned Parenthood Teams Up With Girls Inc For Pro-Abortion Workshops

Girls Inc. is back in the news over abortion and now the group for young women is teaming up with Planned Parenthood. The organization, which has come under fire for adopting a pro-abortion position, is conducting workshops in Montana with the nation's largest abortion business.

The girls group came under fire in 2005 for adopting a statement saying it backs abortion and supports the Roe v. Wade decision that ushered in an era of approximately 50 million abortions.

At the time, pro-life groups called for a boycott of the American Girl doll because the company making them teamed up with Girls Inc. for a promotional.

Now, Jim Sedlak of STOPP International, a Planned Parenthood watchdog, says the pro-abortion groups are teaming up for a workshop for high school girls at the Planned Parenthood Heights Clinic in Billings, Montana.

"As parents, we need to be very careful about what types of programs and activities we allow our children to participate in," he said.

"A program with a name such as "Girls, Inc." doesn't sound bad, does it? Actually, Girls, Inc. is a pro-abortion group and one of many pro-death groups that are listed on [pro-life boycott lists]," he added.

NAACP Urged to Help De-Fund Planned Parenthood

Dozens of pastors and pro-life activists attending the 99th annual NAACP conference in Cincinnati this week are calling on that organization to help de-fund the nation’s largest abortion provider.

“Racism lives at Planned Parenthood,” said Dr. Alveda King, pastoral associate of the group Priests for Life and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., during a rally on Monday.
“I say to my fellow NAACP members: It's time we tell the government to stop funding racism.

"Planned Parenthood will gladly accept donations for the specific purpose of aborting only black babies,” King said. “It locates its clinics in or near minority neighborhoods. It has led the way in eliminating African-Americans to the point where one-quarter of the black population is now missing because of abortion.” read more CNSNews 7.17

Planned Parenthood Blasts Bush Rule to Help Pro-Life Doctors on Abortion

Just one day after news of the proposal became public, Planned Parenthood is attacking a Bush administration plan to help pro-life doctors. The tentative rule would ensure pro-life physicians, nurses and other medical personnel don't face hiring discrimination if they refuse to be involved in abortions.

Although Planned Parenthood touts abortion as a voluntary choice, Cecile Richards, the president of the abortion business, attacked the proposal to help doctors avoid abortion coercion.

Richards called the idea to stop hiring discrimination a way for President Bush to "sell-out women's health in the most unbelievable way" and claimed it is a "massive betrayal of women and families."

"We've known for some time that anti-choice extremists have wanted President Bush to deliver them some sort of 'gift' before he leaves office. This rule change is just that gift," Richards contends.

To stop the proposed rule, Planned Parenthood is launching a massive campaign against it, including emails to its membership to get them to contact President Bush and urge opposition to it. read more LifeNews

Planned Parenthood Praises Obama’s Pro-Abortion Stance

The Planned Parenthood Action Fund, the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), saying his 100 rating by the fund for consistently backing pro-abortion legislation makes him the best choice for president.

“Sen. Obama supports a woman's right to choose and is a co-sponsor of the Freedom of Choice Act, which would codify and protect a woman's right to choose,” Anne Brewer, Women for Obama coordinator for the Obama campaign, said in her blog on the Democratic hopeful’s official Web site.

Black Pro-Life Advocates Denounce Planned Parenthood Barack Obama Nod

Planned Parenthood's endorsement this week of presidential candidate Barack Obama may be going over well with the minority of Americans who support unrestricted abortion. However, for leaders of the African-American community who are pro-life, it's patently offensive.

Day Garner, the head of the National Black Pro-Life Union, says Obama has betrayed the black community by cozying up to Planned Parenthood.

“By kow-towing to the abortion industry Obama proves he is just another politician, as he purposely overlooks the fact that 63 percent of Planned Parenthood’s 860 clinics are in African-American communities," she told LifeNews.com.

"He purposely overlooks tapes of Planned Parenthood staff and executives, made public on YouTube, gladly accepting donations from clearly racist donors who specifically want their money targeted toward aborting black babies," she added. read more LifeNews

Planned Parenthood Backs Barack Obama to Reward Pro-Abortion Position

Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business, made it official on Monday and issued its presidential endorsement for Barack Obama. The group rewarded the senator for his speech last year, where he pledged to only appoint abortion advocates to the Supreme Court.

“The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is proud to endorse Barack Obama for president of the United States,” president Cecile Richards said in a press release LifeNews.com obtained.

Richards called him a "passionate advocate" with a "a long and consistent record of standing up for" unlimited abortions.

She said Obama has committed to investing "in prevention programs, including family planning services" -- meaning Obama will keep or expand the hundreds of millions of dollars the abortion business receives in taxpayer funds. read more LifeNews 7.9

Trying to Put Lipstick on a Pig

Gift shops make the centers more appealing to their young clientele

Planned Parenthood is in search of a makeover. For years, the organization has been the biggest abortionist in the business, but as abortion is losing its cachet, Planned Parenthood is trying to reinvent itself. It seems that killing children for cash is just not as fashionable as it used to be.

According to Stephanie Simon of the Wall Street Journal, Planned Parenthood wants to "[open] new avenues for boosting revenue and, they hope, political clout." The first step in the organization's redo involves marketing itself to customers in a higher income bracket. Planned Parenthood is building new centers with larger waiting areas, wooden floors, nice lighting and other amenities which create a more inviting environment and, presumably, make clients feel less shameful about the act they are contemplating. A new "green" clinic is going up in Massachusetts, made of recycled and earth-friendly materials. "Express centers" are being located in malls so that young women can have quick and easy access to birth control, tests for sexually transmitted diseases and counseling. read more Townhall 6.29

Planned Parenthood Goes Green

An opportunity for John McCain

Regardless of where the issue rates in his priority list, Planned Parenthood has already taken aim at McCain, and they will continue to do so; its political-action committee is planning to spend some $10 million this cycle. Barack Obama is their dream candidate — he is the most radically pro-abortion candidate ever to run for the Oval Office; Obama even has opposed prohibiting clear-cut infanticide, because, in his mind, a just-born child should not be afforded the same rights as a nine-month old.

John McCain has an opportunity to legitimately use his record to differentiate between himself and Senator Obama in a way that will both help social and fiscal conservatives support him. Opposing Planned Parenthood funding meshes with McCain’s contention that abortion is a human-rights issue and his continuing campaign against wasteful government spending. Planned Parenthood doesn’t need or deserve federal funding. As Planned Parenthood continues to make news for lax practices harming children while raking in huge revenues, now is way past time to cut it off. John McCain has opposed taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood — most recently this spring, inexcusably but unsuccessfully tacked onto the war supplemental. He should make that known and make it mean something as he runs for president. read more NRO 6.24

Planned Parenthood Goes Upscale

Planned Parenthood is setting its sights on the affluent

As part of a “rebranding” of the nonprofit to appeal to those with more financial means, Planned Parenthood affiliates are building a broader network of suburban clinics and posh health centers, according to a front-page article in today’s WSJ.

Two elegant new health centers have been built, and at least five more are on the way, the largest of which will be 75,000 square feet. They include muted lighting, hardwood floors, airy waiting rooms in colors selected by marketing experts — plus, walls designed to withstand a car’s impact should an antiabortion protest turn violent. Planned Parenthood has also opened more than two-dozen quick-service “express centers,” many in suburban shopping malls.

Despite some critiques to the contrary, Planned Parenthood insists it’s not compromising is long-held focus on serving the poor with birth control, sexual-health care and abortions. Officials there say they take a loss of nearly $1 on each packet of birth-control pills distributed to poor women under a federal program that funds reproductive care. But they make a profit of nearly $22 on each month of pills sold to an adult who can afford to pay full price. That money helps subsidize other operations, including care for the poor as well as pursuing Planned Parenthood’s political agenda. read more WSJ 6.23

Planned Parenthood: A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing?

Because of the group’s gross disregard for the law and the dignity of its youngest clients, I believe that Planned Parenthood should be de-funded by the Federal government.

In Ohio, Planned Parenthood is being sued for failing to report the rape of a 16-year-old by her father. This is not the first time that center leaders have tried to bend age-related reporting requirements. Thirteen months ago, UCLA student Lila Rose appeared on the O’Reilly Factor stating the some Planned Parenthood centers attempt to hide child abuse or statutory rape by encouraging underage mothers to falsify their ages in order to receive an abortion.

Child abuse is not a reproductive freedom issue; it is an increasing serious problem in the nation today. Should those who have been entrusted with public funds be allowed to empower sexual predators to hide their crimes? The answer is obviously “no”! read more Townhall 6.23

California Planned Parenthood Spends 700K Against Parental Notice on Abortion

In order to defeat the proposal, Planned Parenthood abortion centers created the mis-named Campaign for Teen Safety.

As it has done in past years, Planned Parenthood abortion businesses in California are willing to shell out some of their abortion profits to make sure they can leave parents in the dark about teen abortions. They are, once again, spending heavily to defeat a parental notification measure.

Earlier this month, the California Secretary of State validated Sarah's Law, the latest version of the parental notification initiative, for the November 4 ballot.

Proponents submitted more than 1.2 million signatures on petitions seeking a third vote on adult involvement in minors' abortions, after Propositions 73 and 85 were narrowly defeated in 2005 and 2006. read more LifeNews 6.20

Another Study Suggests Planned Parenthood at Fault in Abortion Drug Deaths

Another study suggests Planned Parenthood is at fault in the deaths of women in the United States from the abortion drug RU 486. The abortion business had been telling women to use the drug in a different way than the FDA guidelines suggested and the study shows it contributed to the deaths.

So far, eight women have died from the use of the abortion drug, including women going to Planned Parenthood abortion centers in California.

Planned Parenthood had been telling women to use the abortion drug vaginally, even though the FDA indicated oral use is safer for women.

It wasn't until four California women all died within a week of using the abortion drug they received from Planned Parenthood abortion businesses that it changed its policy to conform to the FDA protocol. read more LifeNews 6.17

Planned Parenthood Teams Up With MoveOn.org Against McCain

When you watch Planned Parenthood's new viral Web ad, you may get a strong feeling of déjà vu. You might notice it has essentially the same premise as an ad -- starring actor John Cusack -- that was recently released by MoveOn.org, the liberal 527 group. That's because the two advocacy organizations are joining forces in a "kNOw McCain" campaign, to link the presumptive Republican presidential nominee to the views and policies of President George W. Bush. Actually, the Planned Parenthood ad takes it a step further, asserting that McCain is actually more anti-reproductive rights than Bush.

Like the MoveOn.org ad, Planned Parenthood invites viewers to take the Bush-McCain challenge. In the minute and a half-long spot, titled "Bush-McCain: Can you tell the difference?," people on the street are quizzed to see if they can pick which of the two Republicans holds a variety of views concerning family planning, sex education,  birth control,  and Roe vs. Wade -- the supreme court decision that guaranteed a woman's right to an abortion. Sometimes the answer is both, and sometimes it's just McCain.

From a Planned Parenthood press release:

Since he’s been in Washington during the past 25 years, Senator McCain has consistently voted against women’s health. From opposing funding for family planning programs to voting against requiring insurance coverage of birth control, McCain has taken extreme positions against women’s health and has not supported legislation that would help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and the need for abortion. This has earned him a zero rating from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, the lowest rating possible in the U.S. Senate. Just as alarming, John McCain wants to overturn Roe v. Wade, potentially putting the lives and health of women in jeopardy. read more WashInd 6.14

Planned Parenthood Begins Process to Endorse Pro-Abortion Barack Obama

The nation's largest abortion business has begun the process necessary to endorse pro-abortion presidential candidate Barack Obama. Should Planned Parenthood endorse the Democrat, it would join pro-abortion groups like NARAL and Emily's List in doing so.

The board of directors of the pro-abortion group's political operation met on Friday and unanimously voted to recommend an endorsement for Obama.

Abortion business president Cecile Richards told the web site Politico that the endorsement now goes to local Planned Parenthood affiliates to ratify. In total, the process for finalizing the endorsement should take about two weeks.

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood is rolling out its latest attack on John McCain, the eventual Republican nominee who opposes abortion.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, Planned Parenthood has teamed up with the left-wing video group Brave New Films for a video that it will email to tens of thousands of its members across the country taking McCain to task for opposing abortion.

The abortion business hopes to target moderates and Republican women with the campaign to siphon voters who have traditionally liked McCain and push them into the Obama column. read more LifeNews 6.10

Obama Makes Promise to Planned Parenthood

The so-called Freedom of Choice Act could wipe away every state law limiting abortion.

Last year, presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., made a promise to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

"The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act," he said.

The so-called Freedom of Choice Act could wipe away every state law limiting abortion, undoing decades of legal work, research and educational successes.

Obama has co-sponsored the legislation with 18 other senators. The bill has the support of 109 members of Congress.

"Thirty-five years after Roe, abortion supporters, like Senator Obama, are dismayed that abortion remains a divisive issue and that their radical agenda has not been submissively accepted by the American public," writes Denise M. Burke, vice president of Americans United for Life.

"Rather than confronting legitimate issues concerning the availability and safety of abortion, they choose to blatantly ignore the concerns and interests of everyday Americans, as well as the growing evidence that abortion hurts women."

Day Gardner, president of the National Black Pro-Life Union, said even the federal Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act could be overturned.

“This shows exactly how dangerous this man is to unborn children," he said. "We are killing off our children, and this is something we really have to pay attention to.” CitizenLink 6.9

Planned Parenthood Battles DA for Abortion Records

Some of the records related to an abortion battle raging in Kansas have been made public for the first time, revealing what Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline claims are falsified patient information and evidence of illegal late- term abortions.

The documents (with all identifying patient information blacked out) were submitted by Kline to the Kansas Supreme Court on May 28 in response to a civil lawsuit that Planned Parenthood's Kansas chapter and the state attorney general brought against him seeking the return of those and other abortion records in his custody.

Kline -- serving as Kansas attorney general in 2003 -- began investigating the Kansas chapter of Planned Parenthood at that time for suspected improper record-keeping and allegedly providing patients with illegal late-term abortions. read more CNSNews 6.5

Planned Parenthoods Obscene Profits

How about a Republican presidential candidate who will talk about the tax-subsidized abortion industry the way McCain talks about the oil industry?

In April, the annual report for Planned Parenthood Federation of America revealed that the abortion giant had a total income of $1.02 billion — with reported profits of nearly $115 million. Taxpayers kick in more than $336 million worth of government grants and contracts at both the state and federal levels. That’s a third of Planned Parenthood’s budget.

And what market-distorting results do we get for those government incentives? In 2006 alone: 289,750 abortions.

Oil execs, tobacco execs, banking execs, pharmaceutical-company execs, and baseball players have all been hauled up before Congress for highly publicized whippings by crusading lawmakers. But the executives of Planned Parenthood have escaped government scrutiny and public accountability for their predatory behavior, dangerous medical practices, deception, and deadly windfall. read more NationalReview

Habitat for Humanity affiliate ends cooperation with Planned Parenthood

A Florida Habitat for Humanity affiliate has ceased to cooperate with Planned Parenthood’s attempt to build a new abortion facility in Sarasota, Florida.

Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, wanted to open an abortion clinic in Sarasota, but due to zoning ordinances they were unable to do so. The obstacle seemed to have been overcome when Habitat for Humanity Sarasota agreed to purchase a Planned Parenthood property for $10 and to build housing on part of it.

The agreement would have bypassed city requirements preventing Planned Parenthood from obtaining an occupancy permit.  City ordinances required a multifamily “liner” building to be constructed at the back of the property before a clinic could be opened at the front.

On Wednesday morning the American Life League (ALL) reportedly was informed that Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Sarasota, Inc., on Tuesday night voted to withdraw from the agreement. read more CNA 6.5

Habitat for Humanity in Florida Still Considering Helping

As LifeNews.com first reported, Planned Parenthood came up with a creative solution and sold the lot to Habitat for Humanity for $10.

A local Habitat for Humanity chapter accused of helping a Florida-based Planned Parenthood overcome a hurdle to building a new abortion business is still considering its decision. It appears the massive amount of calls and emails is helping, but some of them have been counterproductive.

Planned Parenthood has been looking to build a new abortion facility in the Rosemary District north of downtown Sarasota, Florida.

However, according to local zoning rules, the abortion business can't build the new center unless a multi-family housing unit is built on the back of the lot. Planned Parenthood Sued for $50 Million for Injuring Teen in Failed Abortion

A Planned Parenthood in the District of Columbia is the subject of a new lawsuit from the mother of a teenager injured in a botched abortion. The abortion involved a teenager who was a victim of rape and the abortion left her with significant medical problems.

Emma Jean Butler took her daughter Shantese Butler to Planned Parenthood Metropolitan on September 7, 2006 for an abortion after Shantese was a victim of sexual assault.

According to the lawsuit, Shantese Butler sustained significant physical damage as a result of the abortion.

The abortion resulted in severe abdominal bleeding, severe vaginal injury, severe injury to the cervix, significant uterine perforation, and a small bowel tear. As a result of the injuries, Butler will be unable to have biological children the rest of her life.

Additionally, parts of the unborn child were left inside Butler after a post-abortion examination conducted the next day.

Habitat For Humanity Accused of Helping Planned Parenthood Abortion Center

The Christian non-profit housing ministry Habitat for Humanity stands accused of helping a Florida-based Planned Parenthood overcome a hurdle to building a new abortion business. A pro-life advocate says Planned Parenthood would have been stymied in building the new center without the group's help.

Planned Parenthood has been looking to build a new abortion facility in the Rosemary District north of downtown Sarasota.

However, according to local zoning rules, the abortion business can't build the new center unless a multi-family housing unit is built on the back of the lot.

According to Jim Sedlak of STOPP International, a Planned Parenthood watchdog group, the pro-abortion group approached the local planning board and asked for a five-year extension since it is not a builder and couldn't find a buyer for the lot.

The board denied the request and insisted Planned Parenthood obtain a building permit for the residential building.

Planned Parenthood came up with a creative solution and sold the lot to Habitat for Humanity for $10.

"So, Habitat for Humanity, an organization that claims to be a Christian ministry, is now working with Planned Parenthood," Sedlak told LifeNews.com.

"Habitat for Humanity said that this was only a real estate transaction, but Planned Parenthood could not have opened the abortion facility if the lot was not used for a residential building," he explained. "So, yes, for Humanity is helping Planned Parenthood open its doors."

LifeNews.com contacted officials with Habitat for Humanity and has not received a response for a request for comment.

Sedlak said the Sarasota City Commission met on May 5 and approved the plan to sell the land to Habitat.

He noted that a letter Planned Parenthood filed with the city said, "We are excited to have Habitat be a part of the Planned Parenthood team." LifeNews

Democrats Give Discount to Planned Parenthood

Thanks to a Democrat maneuver, Planned Parenthood will receive a discount from drug manufacturers in a bill designed to fund our troops.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate voted on an amendment to the War Supplemental Appropriations Bill.  Democrats, led by Sen. Barack Obama, had inserted language to help Planned Parenthood into the domestic-spending portion of this troop-funding bill. The Senate passed the amendment 75-22.

The provision allows for groups like Planned Parenthood and university health centers to receive discounted prices from drug manufacturers for drugs like the morning-after pill, which may cause an early abortion.

"Planned Parenthood should not be receiving any federal assistance, and certainly not in a bill that’s designed to help our troops," said Ashley Horne, federal policy analyst for Focus on the Family Action.

Brief filed with Ohio Supreme Court argues abortion clinic
may not withhold records related to lawsuit asserting statutory rape cover-up

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Alliance Defense Fund on behalf of 27 pro-family organizations filed a friend-of-the-court brief with the Ohio Supreme Court Monday in a case involving Planned Parenthood staff who failed to report the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl abused by her school’s soccer coach. The coach, age 21, brought the girl to the Planned Parenthood clinic in Cincinnati to have an abortion after discovering he had impregnated her.

The high court is being asked to reverse an appellate court decision keeping the minor and her parents, represented by ADF-allied attorney Brian Hurley, from accessing Planned Parenthood records that may show a systematic cover-up of statutory rape and other sexual abuse.

“The health and safety of young girls trumps Planned Parenthood’s desire for secrecy,” said ADF Senior Legal Counsel Jeff Shafer. “Ohio law mandates that Planned Parenthood report the sexual abuse of minors, and evidence that may reveal the organization’s violation of that legal obligation may not be hidden.”|

Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry are targeting Catholics as well as minorities

The Population Research Institute (PRI) has found that Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry are targeting Catholics as well as minorities especially the third world people here and globally according to Ginny Hitchcock, the West Coast Representative of Population Research Institute.

On a worldwide basis, with the encouragement of the conservative members of the US Congress, she said that Steve Mosher and PRI are carrying out wide-ranging field research among Catholic populations in the developing world.

PRI has found that the International Planned Parenthood Federation’s population control is frequently used to "subdue" Catholic populations at the expense of basic aid and economic development.

"We're building on our reputation and relationship with strong pro-life members of Congress, and Catholic leaders abroad, to support human rights and to defend the Catholic faith and the rights of Catholic families throughout the world," PRI President Mosher said. read more FredMartinez

U.S. House Asked to Investigate Planned Parenthood's Response to Racist Donations

Former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell last week asked U.S. House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, to launch a congressional investigation into responses given by Planned Parenthood clinics to callers who posed as potential donors and asked that their donations be used to provide abortions to minority women, The Columbus Dispatch reported.

Several University of California-Los Angeles students initiated calls to Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio and affiliates in Idaho, New Mexico, Oklahoma and other states in July 2007. The callers posed as donors and asked whether they could "underwrite" abortions for minority women.

The caller to the Ohio branch said he wanted his potential donation to fund an abortion for a black woman because there are "way too many black people in Ohio." According to The Dispatch, the receptionist said "OK."

Construction Company Backs out of Building Abortion Center for Planned Parenthood after Local Pressure

fter facing local opposition from pro-life grassroots efforts, Walsh Construction has backed out of its plans to build a new Planned Parenthood (PP) facility in northeast Portland.

"It was a nice thing that Walsh got out. The battle still goes on," Bill Diss, Director of the pro-life organization Precious Children of Portland (PCP), warned the Catholic Sentinel.

Andrew Beyer, project manager for Walsh, has expressed support for the PP office and clinic, calling them "an important project in the redevelopment of Northeast Portland."  Beyer added that PP might still be able to build their facilities as their own general contractors.

Some critics of the new PP building project see it as part of a plan for black genocide.  The PCP notes on its website that the new building would move the city's PP headquarters from an area with a population of about 1% African Americans, to an area of about 43% African Americans.

"Planned Parenthood tries to put their sex product and abortion facilities in Black neighborhoods.  More Blacks are killed by abortion than all other causes of death combined!" explained the PCP. read more LifeSite

Planned Parenthood of Ohio Defends Acceptance of Racist Abortion Donation

Officials with Planned Parenthood in Ohio are finally responding to allegations a UCLA student newspaper made in February that they gladly accepted donations from a caller who said he wanted it used for racist purposes. The Advocate magazine called Planned Parenthood centers in several states.

The pro-life publication told LifeNews.com at the time that an actor posing as a racist donor called Planned Parenthood and asked that his donation be used to abort African American babies in order to "lower the number of black people."

The magazine said an Ohio Planned Parenthood representative, Lisa Hutton, told the donor that Planned Parenthood "will accept the money for whatever reason." read more lifenews

Happy Mother's Day from Planned Parenthood

According to Planned Parenthood CEO, the best thing a mother can do for her child is leave a better world - a world with unresrticted abortion - thats what our daughters need?

"Happy Mother's Day" greetings from Planned Parenthood are as grotesque as its "Choice on Earth" Christmas greetings.

Today PP CEO Cecile Richards issued an email plea for $ under the guise of a Mother's Day greeting and using her dead mother and daughter as props.

This pathetic woman is so psychologically and emotionally invested in abortion she has no semblance of a conscience left. If and when she has grandchildren, I'm sure she'll use them, too.

Note the numerous purposeful times she - or, rather, PP's pr firm - invokes the words "mother," "daughter," and "grandmother."

"Legacy"? What legacy? Pro-aborts can leave no legacy, another reason we can undoubtedly know our side will eventually win - through attrition. read more Jill Stanek

Planned Parenthood Abortion Businesses Getting Bigger, Pro-Lifer Knows Why

Planned Parenthood's new abortion centers in places like Houston, Portland, Denver and Aurora are unlike their current facilities nationwide. These new centers that have been built or are in the construction phase are massive in size and one leading pro-life advocate thinks he knows the reason why.

Jim Sedlak of Stopp International says he has obtained Planned Parenthood Federation of America documents that show why the nation's largest abortion business is building its new centers larger than ever before.

Planned Parenthood broke the $1 billion income threshold for the first time in its last fiscal year and pro-life advocates have often accused the "non-profit" group of an obsession with making money.

That appears to be the case here. read more LifeNews

Iowa Legislature Puts the $750,000 Family Planning Line Item Back in the State Budget

Aggressive Lobbying by Planned Parenthood pays off

The Legislature ended up putting the new line item for "family planning" back into the state budget, which will give the abortion industry an additional $750,000 on top of the millions they already receive from our taxes.  Planned Parenthood lobbied hard for the money and has future plans to increase the funds to help them expand all over Iowa. Planned Parenthood takes aim at McCain

As one of the key battleground states in the upcoming presidential election, Wisconsin is already getting attention from a powerful national lobby: the political arm of Planned Parenthood.

Badger women, in particular, will be aggressively targeted by the family planning group, says Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

Noting that McCain has voted against requiring health care plans to cover birth control and has opposed funding for international family planning services, Richards says: "He's opposed a whole host of things that are really very mainstream health issues."

That very record, however, is supremely attractive to Wisconsin Right to Life, the state's forceful anti-abortion lobby, whose political action committee last week endorsed McCain for president.

"Senator McCain has a stellar 100 percent voting record on protecting unborn children from abortion," the group writes in its announcement. read more Madison

Planned Parenthood Paints False Choice on Birth Control vs. Groceries

Planned Parenthood emailed its supporters on Monday urging them to contact Congress and ask for more funding for birth control. The abortion business claims college students need the funding because they're supposedly choosing between birth control and groceries.

"Birth control pills or dinner? Pills or a tank of gas? That's the decision college students and low-income women are facing around the country," Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards says.

But Wendy Wright, the president of Concerned Women for America, tells LifeNews.com that Planned Parenthood paints a false picture.

“If it is truly a choice between groceries and birth control pills, then many women will make the responsible choice to not engage in sexual activity – an overall healthier decision," she said. "Women will not only not get pregnant, they won't be at risk of sexually-transmitted diseases and emotional entanglements."

Wright pointed out that Planned Parenthood gets hundreds of millions of dollars from the federal and state governments.

She said the abortion business, which posted over $1 billion in income in its last fiscal year report, should pay for the birth control itself for these women in supposedly dire situations. LifeNews 4.28

Planned Parenthood Puts A Hit Out On Black Children

Unfortunately, recent investigations and reports suggest that this organization is actually peddling death in an aggressive and unethical manner.

Last Thursday a group of black pastors released a letter calling for all presidential candidates and other politicians to return or refuse to accept campaign donations made by Planned Parenthood nationally. I was proud to be a part of that effort. A recent Wall Street Journal story cited that Planned Parenthood is contributing an unprecedented 10 million dollars to various political campaigns this election cycle.

At first blush this seems like an extravagant, if not frivolous, use of money. Only those who are aware of the 305 million dollars a year of federal money that this organization rakes in would understand this strategic move. When the average person thinks of special interest groups, they often look at big businesses or certain industry lobbyists. But this is not always the case. Townhall 4.28

Pastors Accuse Planned Parenthood for 'Genocide' on Blacks

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America has perpetuated a “genocide on the black community,” says a group of African-American pastors who claimed Thursday the birth control and abortion provider has had a racist agenda since its beginnings in 1921.

Holding a brief vigil and press conference in front of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Washington, D.C., the group of pastors and activists said they were incensed by the results of recent “undercover” inquiries into several Planned Parenthood clinics across the country.

“Every day … over 1,500 black babies are murdered inside the black woman’s womb,” said Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, of Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND). “This is a race issue.”

The pastors urged Congress to initiate an audit of the organization and have written letters demanding that money for Planned Parenthood be eliminated from federal Title X funding, of which the group got $65 million for fiscal year 2007, according to pro-life Concerned Women of America. In total, Planned Parenthood received $300 million in government contracts and grants in the current fiscal year. FoxNews

IS PLANNED PARENTHOOD ABOVE THE LAW?

Planned Parenthood likes to think of itself as above all reproach -- a champion of women's rights and also (as its annual report claims) the nation's "social justice movement."

But this week, in front of Planned Parenthood offices at 1108 16th St. NW in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, a group of black pastors and pro-life activists (joined by two GOP congressmen) will demand a congressional audit of what the group alleges are a pattern of racist practices, funded by taxpayers, at Planned Parenthood abortion clinics.

Planned Parenthood's latest trouble began when a feisty pro-life student magazine called Planned Parenthood offices in seven states, posing as an openly racist donor seeking to make sure his check could be earmarked to abort "a black baby." The resulting phone conversations are horrifying listening. (Judge for yourself at www.youtube.com./watch?v=zwif0VMW3c4.)

The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is promising to spend $10 million this election cycle. "These donations come even as Planned Parenthood is defending itself against a range of civil and criminal complaints in several states, and critics charge that the organization is trying to buy influence in Congress," notes ABC News.

It's a smart investment for an affluent organization (a budget surplus of $114 million and assets of more than $1 billion) that gets more than one-third of its income, or almost $337 million in 2006, from the taxpayers. read more Magie Gallagher, YahooNews

Planned Parenthood of New Jersey Rallies Forces against Crisis Pregnancy Centers

Planned Parenthood Affiliates of New Jersey continued their attack on Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPC) last week when it exhorted its supporters to back the Stop Deceptive Advertising for Women's Services Act (SDAWS). That act that calls for the Federal Trade Commission to enforce truth-in-advertising standards so as to make it illegal for CPCs to present themselves in such a way as to lead individuals into believing that they perform abortions.

Rep. Carolyn Maloney and 11 other sponsors introduced SDAWS to the NJ House of Representatives in May 2007.  On April 1, Sen. Robert Menendez introduced the Senate companion to SDAWS.

Maloney claims that CPCs "have adopted the brazen tactic of advertising and presenting themselves as legitimate family planning centers in order to lure women seeking abortion information and talk them out of getting an abortion."

"Although they may claim to provide a range of services, CPCs are not legitimate health facilities and do not offer comprehensive health services and non-biased, medically accurate information about all pregnancy options," said Michele Jaker, Executive Director of PPANJ.

Randall K. O'Bannon, Ph.D., National Right to Life Director of Education and Research, systematically debunked the standard attacks on CPCs in his two-part article "Pro-Abortionists Crank Up Campaign to Mislead Public"

"As the number of CPCs has grown, as some centers have begun to receive modest federal funding, and as the Movement has grown far more effective in getting the truth about abortion's risks and realities into the hands of pregnant women, the attack has intensified," explained O'Bannon. LifeSite

Planned Parenthood Has 'Racist Agenda,' MLK's Niece Says

The niece of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., is among a group of pro-life black leaders calling for an end to federal funding for Planned Parenthood because of what she calls Planned Parenthood's "racist agenda."

"Planned Parenthood is definitely a racist organization - they have a racist agenda," Dr. Alveda King told Cybercast News Service. "Since 1970, there has been something like 50 million abortions. About 17 million of those have been blacks. It's black genocide. They are killing our people and fooling us." read more CNSNews 4.17

Komen Gave Planned Parenthood Abortion Businesses Over $700K Last Year

A new report from a Planned Parenthood watchdog finds chapters of the Komen Race for the Cure breast cancer group gave affiliates of the national abortion business over $700,000 last fiscal year. The enormous amount should be a red flag to pro-life advocates, one leading activist says.

Figures from STOPP International show Komen chapters giving $711,485 from April 1, 2005 to March 31, 2006 to Planned Parenthood affiliates.

Jim Sedlak, a representative of the watchdog group says the numbers are concerning given than millions of pro-life Americans will participate in Komen events during the month.

"More and more people are speaking up about the fact that Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a breast cancer research foundation, supports Planned Parenthood," Sedlak told LifeNews.com on Wednesday.

He pointed to studies showing abortion increases a woman's chances of contracting breast cancer and said that makes the donations extremely questionable. read more LifeNews 4.9

Planned Parenthood Registers Record Abortions, Profits

Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading provider of surgical abortions, registered the largest number of abortions on record last year, according to its latest report.

According to figures, the pro-choice organization registered the largest percentage increase in abortions in over a decade. During the 2006-2007 period, 289,570 abortions were performed throughout its 860 locations, an increase of nearly 25,000.

Although separate and independent studies reveal that the number of abortions throughout the country decreased overall last year, Planned Parenthood records show it was little affected by recent declining trends.

Last year, Planned Parenthood serviced record numbers of patients and earned over $1 billion in profits. read more ChristianPost 4.7

Poll Finds Women in Battleground States Don't Know John McCain's Abortion Stance

The poll results will likely confirm to Planned Parenthood leaders that the pro-abortion group needs to spend more on vote education efforts.

A new poll commissioned by Planned Parenthood finds 16 percent of women in top presidential battleground states can't say whether John McCain's abortion views match their own. The abortion business worries the results show women who support abortion may back McCain because they don't realize he's pro-life.

The poll also shows telling those voters McCain opposes abortion makes pro-abortion voters less likely to support him.

Conducted by Hart Research Associates, the survey finds about 25 percent of pro-abortion voters who back McCain are less likely to support him when they learn he favors overturning Roe v. Wade and supports abstinence-only education. read more LifeNews 4.7

Planned Parenthood Capitalizes on Abortion

Does the federal government have the right to utilize your tax dollars to fund organizations whose core values completely differ from your own?

Answer: Absolutely. In fact, just this week it was revealed that Planned Parenthood, the nation’s most prominent abortion provider, received an astounding $336 million in government (both federal and state) grants. But get this: Planned Parenthood took in more than $1 billion last fiscal year, according to its own annual report, for the first time in its history.

It is apparent that there is big money to be made in abortion.

According to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s annual report (2006-07), the organization conducted 289,570 abortions, an increase of almost 25,000 abortions over the previous year.

American Life League reports that one in every four abortions in our nation is now conducted at a Planned Parenthood facility. In fact, Planned Parenthood is actually responsible for the deaths of more than 5,500 innocent lives every week. Through the years, more than three million unborn babies have had their lives snuffed out at a Planned Parenthood facility.

It’s a truly shocking statistic. read more NewsMax 4.5

Planned Parenthood Continues to Crack: New Video Outs More Racism

UCLA publication releases another video of Planned Parenthood staff excitedly accepting donations earmarked for black babies

The Advocate, a UCLA student publication, releases another video in its Planned Parenthood series exposing the organization's racist vision. Posing as a donor, law student James O'Keefe calls clinics in Oklahoma and New Mexico and asks to make a donation specifically to be used for a black baby. The clinics are more than happy to accommodate his request. See the video here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=zwif0VMW3c4.

The Advocate released its first video four weeks ago exposing Autumn Kersey, Director of Development at Planned Parenthood in Idaho. Ms. Kersey was caught on audio getting "excited" for a donation by an explicitly racist caller by phone. The students also exposed an Ohio clinic for gladly accepting donations, no matter what they may be used for. Video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LJVPVh5TWo.

"This new video demonstrates a disturbing trend of racism at Planned Parenthood," said Lila Rose, editor of The Advocate. "Planned Parenthood has no shame in accepting donations to purposely abort minority populations. People have forgotten the organization was founded on these principles and has continued to operate under these same racist views for decades." read more EMedia 4.3

Planned Parenthood hawks "free love" and encourage promiscuous sex for Teens

Tells how to go around parents to get contraceptives

The United States of America has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the Western world. According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute's 2002 report, 75 out of every 1,000 girls aged 15-19 in the United States will get pregnant. Twenty-one out of every 1,000 will get an abortion.

One reason why our teen pregnancy and abortion rate is so high is because of Planned Parenthood's relentless targeting of our young people. Americans need to understand that most teen abortions don't start when a girl walks into a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic. They start when a slick Planned Parenthood operator walks into a classroom, or a teen logs onto a cleverly designed Planned Parenthood website.

Teenwire.com, with its aggressively contemporary layout and affable, "teen-friendly" graphics, is designed to attract youth used to surfing Myspace and YouTube. With beautiful colors and an eye-catching layout, combined with such hooks as "Ask the Experts" and "In Your Own Words," it is primed for maximum outreach to its target audience of teenagers.

So what does Teenwire.com have to say? read more LifeSite 4.1

Planned Parenthood: Annual Budget Surpasses $1 Billion; More Preborn Children Killed

"If the current trend continues, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America Inc. (PPFA) will command a budget of more than $1 billion in three years," warned Douglas R. Scott, Jr., president of Life Decisions International (LDI), in 2006. But PPFA's Annual Report for 2006-2007 shows that Scott was two years off the mark.

"Planned Parenthood surpassed the $1 billion mark in the very fiscal year immediately following my 2006 comment," Scott said. "This is shocking and more than a little frightening."

PPFA generated $1.0179 billion in Fiscal Year 2006-2007, which is an increase of nearly 11 percent over the previous reporting period. In Fiscal Year 2005-2006, PPFA's budget rose just 2.4 percent over the previous Fiscal Year. One year earlier (2004-2005) that figure was 8.4 percent. read more ChristianNewsWire 3.31

Catholic Diocese in Indiana, Wants Komen Race Boycott Over Abortion Ties

Another Catholic diocese has gone on record as urging Catholics and local parishes to boycott the Komen Race for the Cure because of its ties to abortion. Komen affiliates across the nation have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Planned Parenthood and the group has denied the abortion-breast cancer link.

The Catholic Diocese of Lafayette wants local parishioners to boycott the April race in Indianapolis expected to draw 40,000 people.

The diocese includes 63 churches in 24 counties and a statement LifeNews.com obtained explains the rationale behind the decision.

“Due to its policy allowing affiliates to offer financial support to abortion providing facilities, its
endorsement of embryonic stem cell research, and the continued denial that abortion may well lead to the development of breast cancer, it is not appropriate for Catholics to participate," the diocese said. read more LifeNews 3.27

The Abortion Industry

Planned Parenthood enjoys a good reputation. Many Americans think it performs necessary services — screening for sexually transmitted diseases, forestalling teen pregnancy and controlling family size.

But there are some disturbing realities behind the scene. For example, Planned Parenthood's confidentiality principles (it promises not to tell anyone of a teenager's problems) conflict with laws in every state that require health care workers to report suspected sexual abuse or statutory rape to law enforcers. Not surprisingly, investigators are finding a national pattern of failure to report sex crimes against underage teens. read more WashingtonTimes 3.27

Texas Billboard draws attention to Abortion Breast Cancer link and PP's relationship with the Susan G. Komen Foundation

texasprolifebillboard

A pro-life group in Texas is drawing attention to the Abortion Breast Cancer link and Planned Parenthood's relationship with the Susan G. Komen Foundation with a new billboard that raises serious questions -- and is drawing fire.

Pro-Life Waco has set up a billboard on the 1700 block of Franklin Avenue that poses suggestive questions: "What? An abortion increases my risk for breast cancer? Why does the Komen Race grant $45,000 to Waco's Planned Parenthood abortion provider?"

The billboard is also visible from the offices of the Waco Tribune-Herald, which has voiced support of Planned Parenthood's policies and agenda in the past.

An editorial in the March 23, 2008 edition of the paper called the billboard's claims "false" and "specious."

But John Pisciotta, Co-Director of Pro-Life Waco, tells LifeNews.com the Waco paper is off base. read more LifeNews 3.27

The Plague of Planned Parenthood

We all mourn the deaths in Iraq, now approaching 4,000th Americans, in the five-year-old fight for freedom and justice in that nation.  But sadly we seem oblivious to the fact that we lose approximately the same number of our fellow citizens everyday to abortion.

The plague of abortion takes one American life about every 30 seconds.  But here’s a little good news...  Soon Congress will have the chance to limit severely the ability of this plague’s principal purveyor, Planned Parenthood, to force you to pay for its deadly deeds.

Planned Parenthood spends millions annually to maintain its reputation as the foremost champion of “responsible” sexuality and child-bearing, with, among other things, ads featuring hip, healthy-looking young people and cute, cuddly babies.

But Planned Parenthood’s record refutes its well-honed reputation.  In recent years, its affiliates have ignored numerous cases of statutory rape and sexual abuse of minors.  Last fall, Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri was handed a 107-count grand jury indictment, with allegations ranging from illegal late-term abortions, “making false information” and “unlawful failure to maintain records,” among other violations.  In California, meanwhile, several Planned Parenthood affiliates are under investigation for overcharging the state hundreds of millions (I repeat:  hundreds of millions) of dollars on birth control. HumanEvents read more

Virginia Legislature Kills Effort to Stop Taxpayer Funding for Planned Parenthood

After some surprising initial success, the Virginia legislature has dropped an effort to stop taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood -- the nation's largest abortion business. The House and Senate initially included defunding Planned Parenthood in their versions of the state budget.

However, that amendment was removed during the conference committee negotiations and pro-life groups are disappointed.

Victoria Cobb, president of the Virginia Family Foundation, told LifeNews.com that Senate Majority Leader Dick Salsaw, a Senate budget conferee, tried to tie an unrelated issue to the funding ban.

But, Delegate Kirk Cox forced conferees to vote on the issue of funding Planned Parenthood as a stand alone item.

Cobb explained that, under the legislative rules a budget provision can be removed despite its inclusion in budgets from both chambers as long as three legislators on either side agree. LifeNews 3.19

St. Louis Archdiocese Opposes Komen Race Involvement Over Abortion Link

Despite a decision by the Little Rock Catholic Diocese to withdraw its objections to the Komen Race for the Cure event, the St. Louis Archdiocese is still asking pro-life people to boycott the event. That's because Komen denies the link between abortion and breast cancer and its affiliates have funded Planned Parenthood.

A week ago, the priest who is the interim leader of the Little Rock Diocese said he met with Komen officials and felt he could withdraw his objections.

But the Respect Life Apostolate in the St. Louis archdiocese has issued a statement against the event during each of the last two years and renewed its objections this week.

The Archdiocese acknowledged the "beneficial work" Komen does to assist women with breast cancer and help other avoid it.

However, it said the work is tainted by the fact that Komen affiliates in over a dozen states have made grants to Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business. Those donations free up funds for abortions, the Respect Life office explained. 3.14 LifeNews read more

Mech contacted Cybercast News Service after reading its report about Teenwire.

"Planned Parenthood is an excellent organization that helps people by focusing on how people actually are behaving (i.e., having sex, watching porn, doing drugs, etc.), as opposed to helping people based on how they should be behaving (abstaining from sex, watching the news, eating healthy, etc.)," Mech, a pornography producer and actor, told Cybercast News Service. read more 3.13

Banks Urged to 'Come Clean' on Support of Planned Parenthood

Contact: Life Decisions International

FRONT ROYAL, Va., March 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- "Bank of America continues to play word games in an attempt to mislead consumers," said Douglas R. Scott, Jr., president of Life Decisions International (LDI). "And Wachovia is not any better than Bank of America." Both corporations appear on The Boycott List, which identifies corporate supporters of Planned Parenthood.

In November 2007, LDI sent a letter to Bank of America Foundation President Andrew Plepler, which addressed the issue:

"You write that Bank of America's involvement with Planned Parenthood is driven 'primarily' by its employees. You go on to write that Planned Parenthood is one of many groups that receive funding via Bank of America's Matching Gift Program...

"Once again, we will ask the same questions that Bank of America has refused to answer over the past several years. Is the Matching Gift Program the only way in which Planned Parenthood receives support from Bank of America or any related entity? Are local banks still allowed to support the abortion-committing group? Needless-to-say, it is your use of the word "primarily" that leaves us concerned.

"As you might expect, it is important that we leave no room for miscommunication or misunderstanding. Please respond to our questions very specifically--without ambiguity."

Scott said that Wachovia has told customers it has not made donations to Planned Parenthood for many years. Yet an article that appeared in The Weekly Standard late last year proved otherwise. "If what Wachovia has been telling customers were true, why won't someone at the corporation tell LDI the same story?" Scott asked. "We would simply ask a few questions, as we did with Bank of America, to be sure there is no room for misunderstanding due to vague rhetoric. Oddly, the Company will not give LDI the chance to ask such questions because no one will speak to us."

"We urge executives at Bank of America and Wachovia to come clean on this issue. The truth is surely not too much to ask," Scott said. Both Bank of America Corporation and Wachovia Corporation remain boycott targets. Wells Fargo, Chase and Northern Trust are some of the other financial institutions that are boycott targets due to their support of Planned Parenthood. see article

Lawsuits allege Planned Parenthood ripped off taxpayers for more than $180 million, fired whistleblower - “Extensive, organized fraud”

A former executive of Planned Parenthood-Los Angeles has filed a federal whistleblower’s lawsuit against all nine Planned Parenthood affiliates in California. The suit alleges the affiliates knowingly engaged in a criminal plot to fleece state and federal taxpayers out of more than $180 million over the course of at least six years.

Victor Gonzalez, former vice-president for finance and administration of Planned Parenthood-Los Angeles, secretly filed the lawsuit under the federal False Claims Act in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles in 2005. The suit was unsealed earlier this week following a prolonged review by the U.S. attorney’s office. Gonzalez worked for Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles from Dec. 9, 2002 until he was abruptly fired on March 9, 2004.

Congressman says Planned Parenthood info to teens is "pornographic," wants funding pulled

Iowa Congressman Steve King wants to pull the plug on federal funding for Planned Parenthood because of its website aimed at providing sex-oriented information to teens. King, a Republican from Kiron, says he's disturbed by some of the items available which he considers obscene.

King says, "There are clinical drawings that can go on the webpage if that's supposed to be educational and if they're pictures, then I view that as pornographic." He opposes teens having unsupervised access to such materials, saying the organization's website for teen sex information goes too far.

King says: "I don't think Planned Parenthood has any business engaging in the moral standard. If it's clinical, that's one thing and if they're advocating for an agenda, that's another." Arizona Planned Parenthood Nurse Wants State to Allow Her to Do Abortions

A nurse at a Planned Parenthood abortion business in Arizona has been doing abortions there for some time and recently decided to report her activities to the state. She wants Arizona officials to acknowledge her legal ability to do abortion -- something that could impact the laws of other states.

Unlike most states, Arizona has no law prohibiting non-doctors from doing abortions and Mary Andrews has taken it upon herself to do surgical abortions.

With so few doctors willing to do abortions and so many abortion practitioners running afoul of the law, there is an abortion practitioner shortage. That could be mitigated if nurses are allowed to put women's health at risk by doing surgical abortions. read more Lifenews 3.5

Issues4Life Foundation Demands Assault Against the Black Unborn by Planned Parenthood Stop

Hoye says, "According to Dr. Johnny Hunter, President of the Life Education And Resource Network,
