Pro-Life and Conscience Bills Ready for Governor Urge Governor Brewer to Sign HB 2564 and HB 2400

Two of the most important pro-life bills in decades (HB 2564 and HB 2400) have now passed the Arizona Legislature and will soon be acted upon by Governor Brewer. Please take a minute and encourage Governor Brewer to sign into law both of these very significant measures.

HB 2564 will protect women, parents, children, and the civil rights of health care providers. Specifically, the bill's provisions call for the following: 1) informed consent before abortions can be performed along with a 24 hour waiting period; 2) meaningful parental consent requirements; 3) a prohibition on non-doctors performing surgical abortions; and 4) rights of conscience for all health care providers (including pharmacists) in matters involving abortion and abortifacients.

HB 2400, meanwhile, creates a state ban on partial birth abortions so that local prosecutors can make sure this horrific procedure is never done in Arizona.
